Our farm focuses on producing high quality vegetables and herbs, and to us that means taste and nutritional value (did you know fresh organic vegetables have higher levels of vitamin C, E and antioxidants?).
We don't measure our farm's livelihood on only yield (which most conventional farmers will do) because it seems awfully reductive and doesn't leave room to account for soil health (which ultimately affects long term yield) and for produce flavour (ever have those giant strawberries that taste diluted?). This doesn't mean we don't grow a lot either! Our tomatoes are chemical-free and happily fruiting everyday. The picking never stops because we easily have 10-20 tomatoes per plant. Our peppers are the same!
We became farmers so we could seed beauty around us, and really see how colour, variety and diversity can help change our environment, our health and our country. We feel so grateful to our plants, and a real reverence for nature, because they give us so much if only we give treat them right.
